Young Dro's Best Thang Smokin'

Young Dro started to show up on the hip hop radar. Many fans regard his music very similar to T.I.'s, but not as good as King. Dro's newest album Best Thang Smokin' is rocking the radio waves and billboard charts, sitting comfortably at the number 1 position for its category.

The song that many have heard is Shoulder Lean. This album is filled with many club thumpin' tracks. The deep bass and catchy lyrics will make any hip hop fan pleased.

Best Thang Smokin' delivers what fans are looking for with a well-rounded album from opening to close. It is almost Dro's best, but I think we can expect greater albums from him in the near future.

Outkast's New Release: Idlewild

Well, Outkast wanted to do a movie in 1998 and release Idlewild at the same time; however, there weren't any studios that would support their endeavors. Now, eight years later, Outkast finally realized their dream. They acquired enough fame and publicity that HBO and Universal took on the project.

Idlewild the movie and soundtrack depict the drama involved in running a speakeasy in the prohibition era. The soundtrack does an excellent job imitating bits of music from the 30's.

I'm sure a lot of you still remember Ice Cube. He hasn't been hot on the Billboards lately; however, he did release a new album this year called, Cry Later Laugh Now.

Most of you will remember his prominence as a rapper in the 90's with his hit songs Check Yo Self and It Was A Good Day. In 1993, both songs hit the number 1 spot under the Hot Rap Singles chart, including making top 20 within The Billboard Hot 100 chart.

From his newest CD, the song Why We Thugs is slowly climbing the charts from its 80th spot. I guess it's hard for fans and new listeners to catch on to his reappearance.

Gone bananas for Gorillaz

One of my friends who loves Linkin' Park introduced me to Fort Minor. At first, I wasn't very enthused about Mike's solo project, but after hearing a few of his songs, I instantly became a fan.

Here's a little more info on the group from Rhapsody:

" Originally from Chicago, Kanye West's rapid ascension to hip-hop's elite class began when he produced a string of hits for Jay-Z's The Blueprint, including "Izzo (H.O.V.A.)," "Never Change," and "The Takeover."
