Many fans regard his music very similar to T.I.'s, but not as good as King. Dro's newest album Best Thang Smokin' is rocking the radio waves and billboard charts, sitting comfortably at the number 1 position for its category.

The song that many have heard is Shoulder Lean. This album is filled with many club thumpin' tracks. The deep bass and catchy lyrics will make any hip hop fan pleased.

Best Thang Smokin' delivers what fans are looking for with a well-rounded album from opening to close. It is almost Dro's best, but I think we can expect greater albums from him in the near future.

Take a listen:

Shoulder Lean [Featuring T.I.]

Best Thang Smokin'

Young Dro

Play

Young Dro, Ft. Now, eight years later, Outkast finally realized their dream. They acquired enough fame and publicity that HBO and Universal took on the project.

Idlewild the movie and soundtrack depict the drama involved in running a speakeasy in the prohibition era. The soundtrack does an excellent job imitating bits of music from the 30's.

Yung Joc Goin' Up Not Down

Yung Joc, a rapper inspired with music relating to the streets. He grew up listening and admiring Outkast then later T.I.. After his 2006 release, "It's Goin' Down," the hit track made everyone's favorite list in Atlanta, where he's from. Soon catching wind, P-Diddy came along and offered Joc a multimillion dollar deal to buy the rights to his music. Another Bad Boy addition to the already successful and large label.

Lyrics:

*This a nitty beat*

*boing*

Nitty:
Here we go again
Ghetto field USA
You know I go by the name Nitty right?
I gotta introduce you to
anotha muthafucka in my squad right
This nigga go by the name of Joc
He resides in College park right
But for right now
what we gotta do for yall
we gotta give yall a hit

Verse 1:
Niggas in my face
damn near every day
aska million questions like Joc where you stay
tell 'em College Park
where they chop cars
In 20 grand spend a grand at the bar
Just bought a zone
J's on my feet
I'm on that Patrone so get like me
'69 cutlass wit the bucket seats
beat in my trunk ballin just for the freaks
Catch me in the hood
Posted by the store
pistol in my lap on the phone countin dough
If ya girl choose
let her do her thang
just like her mama nice ass nice brain
Everbody love me
I'm so fly
Nigga throw the dueces everytime i ride by
I know you wonder why
I'm so cool
Dont ask me just
do what you do

Chorus 2x:
meet me in the Trap
it's goin down
meet me in the mall
it's goin down
meet me in the club
it's goin down
anywhere you meet me guaranteed to go down

Verse 2:
Verse number two
Do the damn thang
Cubes on my neck
Pocket fulla Ben Franks
when Im in the mall
hoes just pause
Pop a few tags gimme dat on da wall
time to flip the work
make the block bump
Boys N da Hood
Call me Black by my trunk
Dope Boy magic
7 days a week
number one record
long as Nitty on the beat
Ooh I think they like me
betta yet I know
LIghts, camera, action
when I walk through the door
Niggas know my crew we certified stars
Valet in the front bout 35 cars
Bitches in the back
Black in the coupe
Girls likin Girls
time to recruit
if you gotta problem say it to my face
we can knuckle up anytime any place

Chorus 2x:
meet me in the Trap
it's goin down
meet me in the mall
it's goin down
meet me in the club
it's goin down
anywhere you meet me guaranteed to go down

verse 3:
Time to set it off
Let these niggas know
Have they ever seen a Chevy wit them butterfly doors
I ride real slow no need to speak
gotta make sure they see the buckets on my feet
Feds on my trail they don't think I know
I keep my hands clean cuz i never touch do
Everytime I see 'em look 'em in they eyes
Ask me how I know? He hasn't been hot on the Billboards lately; however, he did release a new album this year called, Cry Later Laugh Now.

Most of you will remember his prominence as a rapper in the 90's with his hit songs Check Yo Self and It Was A Good Day. In 1993, both songs hit the number 1 spot under the Hot Rap Singles chart, including making top 20 within The Billboard Hot 100 chart.

From his newest CD, the song Why We Thugs is slowly climbing the charts from its 80th spot. Their hip-hop and funky music are keeping the air waves alive with fresh music. Coming back from a slump in 2001, their beats have changed, I think for the better.

Rhapsody notes, "In July 2005, the band released its follow-up, Demon Days. As the title suggests, the Gorillaz's sophomore effort casts a darker shadow; however, this is tempered by slick-sounding beats and a variety of happy-go-lucky blips and bleeps. The group scored a radio hit this second time around with the single "Feel Good, Inc.""

Click on the cover art to listen to a free stream of their newest and hottest song, Dare.

DMX Ruff Ridin'

DMX has been a favorite rapper for a lot of people out there. His famous songs like "Where The Hood At," have been topping charts and heard over the radio nationwide. This particular song has peaked to the 16th position on the Billboards shortly after it's release in 2003. Hear what the hype is all about by listening to a free sample!

Rhapsody bit on DMX:

"An extraordinarily high-selling rapper, DMX's murderous lyrics and affinity for barking have rocketed him up the Pop charts. With super-catchy synth beats provided by Swizz Beatz, Dame Grease, and others, he has become a staple on playlists coast to coast. His always aggressive delivery and violent imagery have captivated the imagination of fans worldwide, prompting him to release three full albums in less than two years. While innovative lyricism and diverse content are two things he will never be accused of, his selling power and reign on the charts cannot be denied."

50 Cent and His Hot Single

Rhapsody's Review on 50 Cent's single "Best Friend:"

"Four years after trampling over Ja Rule's career, G-Unit's 50 Cent reaffirms his status as Ja's replacement as the go-to rapper for gangsta lovin' anthems. Ever since, his bustin' tunes have been tearin' up the streets of my hometown, Seattle.

Here's what Rhapsody has to say about T.I. and his background:

"Previously known as T.I.P., T.I. is an Atlanta emcee with a knack for catchy hooks and no shortage of rhymes about the grim realities of daily life in the drug game. His first album, 2001's I'm Serious, failed to make much noise, so he was released from Arista. However, that setback pushed him to try harder: T.I. started his own label, Grand Hustle, which ended up moving 20,000 units of the underground CD In Da Streets, Parts 1 and 2. Impressed by his regional fanbase, Atlantic picked him up and put out his second album, Trap Muzik, in 2003. Bolstered by irresistibly catchy production and an assortment of Dirty South collabos, the record lit up the charts and scored a big hit with the riot-inciting, rim-centric single "24's""
Fort Minor Exclusive

One of my friends who loves Linkin' Park introduced me to Fort Minor. At first, I wasn't very enthused about Mike's solo project, but after hearing a few of his songs, I instantly became a fan.

Here's a little more info on the group from Rhapsody:

"A solo project from Linkin Park's Mike Shinoda, Fort Minor's The Rising Tide album was entirely written and produced by him, with executive backing from his homie Jay-Z. While not as aggro as the stuff he does with his primary crew, it still maintains that heavy sound, fusing rock-tinged drums and guitar riffs with Timbaland/Neptune-style synth squiggles. The record also touches on unique issues; one song addresses Japanese internment camps during WWII, while another was inspired by a Robert Altman film."

Music Video of Today's Pick

Today's Top Pick

"Ridin'" by Chamillionaire has been on the air for 13 weeks and is number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Dubbed the "mix tape messiah," he gained a loyal local following through numerous freestyles and guest appearances, and soon formed a duo with childhood homie Paul Wall; they were known as the Color Changin' Click. The two signed to powerhouse label Swisha House and released several popular projects, though business/financial issues soon splintered the partnership. With his independent success, reputation for beef, strong rhyme skills and 50 Cent-esque deadpan hook singing, he and his label Chamillitary Entertainment inked a distribution deal with Universal in late 2004. The following year, Chamillionaire released his hotly anticipated major label debut, The Sound of Revenge."

Kanye West's Select Best

Listen to some of Kanye's best out of his latest albums:

Gold Digger (Album Version (Edited))

Graduation Day

Diamonds From Sierra Leone (Album Version (Edited))

Jesus Walks

I'll Fly Away

Through the Wire

Slow Jamz

All Falls Down

All about Kanye West

" Originally from Chicago, Kanye West's rapid ascension to hip-hop's elite class began when he produced a string of hits for Jay-Z's The Blueprint, including "Izzo (H.O.V.A.)," "Never Change," and "The Takeover." The rapper has been in high demand ever since, contributing tracks to albums from Scarface, Ludacris, Beanie Sigel, and many others. Influenced by fellow Chi-town native No I.D. (who produced much of Common's early material), West's signature style is akin to that of the classic beat-makers of the early 1990s -- limited synths but heavy on the soul samples. He popularized the use of sped up vocal loops and sweeping strings, an approach imitated by countless others. In 2003, it seemed as though West was everywhere, as he fast became one of hip-hop's most sweated new artists. Unlike many other producers who step to the mic, Kanye is also an extremely talented emcee who flexes a relaxed but focused flow that's never short on clever lyrics. After a bad car accident, he released two top-notch mix tapes, Get Well Soon and I'm Good, which showcased his beats and rhyme skills and helped to further his reputation. His first solo single, the Chaka Khan-sampling "Through The Wire" on Roc-A-Fella records, found love from mainstream radio rap fans and underground connoisseurs alike, and his heavily anticipated debut, College Dropout, hit the streets in February 2004."

"On August 30th, 2005, Kanye West released his second album Late Registration. Reviews ranged from glowing ("Late Registration is an undeniable triumph" -Rolling Stone) to mixed ("As ornate and bloated as West's ego". -Spin magazine Sep 2005, p.99).[1] The first two singles were "Diamonds from Sierra Leone" (which contained samples from Shirley Bassey's "Diamonds Are Forever") and "Gold Digger" featuring Jamie Foxx. The album went on to sell over 904,000 copies in its first week, and spun off eight Grammy Award nominations including Album of the Year and Record of the Year for "Gold Digger.""

"On September 2, 2005, during a benefit concert for Hurricane Katrina relief on NBC, A Concert for Hurricane Relief, West was a featured speaker. You see a black family, it says, 'They're looting.' You see a white family, it says, 'They're looking for food.' And, you know, it's been five days [waiting for federal help] because most of the people are black. And even for me to complain about it, I would be a hypocrite because I've tried to turn away from the TV because it's too hard to watch. I've even been shopping before even giving a donation, so now I'm calling my business manager right now to see what is the biggest amount I can give, and just to imagine if I was down there, and those are my people down there. So anybody out there that wants to do anything that we can help — with the way America is set up to help the poor, the black people, the less well-off, as slow as possible. I mean, the Red Cross is doing everything they can. We already realize a lot of people that could help are at war right now, fighting another way — and they've given them permission to go down and shoot us! (Black People)

"
